IN2PAST Strategic Forum

Event
2.30 pm to 6.00 pm
Museu Nacional de Etnologia, Lisbon
On 16 October, the first meeting of the “IN2PAST Strategic Forum” will take place, on which date it will be formally established and presented to the public. Created with the aim of strengthening the relationship between scientific research, institutions and society, the Forum seeks to promote dialogue and collaboration between the research community and different sectors of society, as well as to encourage reflection on the role of scientific knowledge in public policy and in addressing contemporary challenges. The Forum comprises both internal and external members and seeks to bring together a diverse representation of institutions and sectors. In addition to the heads of the IN2PAST organisation and the Directors of its seven Research Units, it includes representatives from institutions linked to culture, heritage, science, public policy and civil society, with both local and national presence.
The Forum will meet annually and will serve as a forum for discussion between IN2PAST and its external members on the challenges and needs of the institutions represented, seeking to identify areas of common interest and concrete opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
In this session, the public programme begins at 2.30 pm and ends at 5.00 pm with a reception. There will be a presentation of the Strategic Forum, followed by discussions on work carried out by IN2PAST and its publications, as well as a debate on the role of research in institutions and in society.
